I have started by looking at these Turkish child's ceremonial garment, which would have been worn to a wedding. The embroideries on these are very exciting and unusual, for example they have antique beads sewn in next to plastic bottle tops. It is this strange contrast of materials that really attracted me to the piece. The richness of materials, from shells, plastic, metal, sequin, glass beads to wooly fringing, the piece is full of intrigue.
